Past the jetties to the near-shore rigs and reefs. Bull reds in the fall, kingfish and sharks most of the year, and the first real taste of open water.

What is included

  • Rods, reels, and terminal tackle rigged and ready

  • Fuel and a licensed, Coast Guard credentialed captain
  • First two fish per person cleaned and bagged free
  • Texas fishing license with a saltwater endorsement (anyone 17 or older, bring your own or buy a one-day license online before the trip)
  • Heavier tackle rigged for bigger fish
  • Cooler ice for your catch

How your day runs

  1. 01

    Early departure

    We leave earlier than the bay trips to get to the near-shore structure while the bite is on.

  2. 02

    Work the structure

    Rigs, reefs, and the edge of the ship channel, moving as needed to find fish.

  3. 03

    Fight bigger fish

    Heavier gear and longer fights. This is the trip where the rod bends all the way over.

  4. 04

    Back before the afternoon chop

    We time the return to beat the afternoon wind, which usually picks up nearshore.
